The Appalachian

We loved The Appalachian cabin. It is the perfect cabin for friends to enjoy together. The view through the front door window to the mountains out back took our breath away when we arrived. So pesceful and quiet. Shaun was available to answer any of our questions. We will be back and can’t wait to make more memories there! (Photo attached was taken from the back porch.)

A Perfect 5-Star Experience from Start to Finish This rental exceeded all expectations. The pictures online don’t do it justice. From the moment you arrive, the stunning views and inviting atmosphere set the tone. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, the cabin felt festive and cozy. It was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need, making our stay stress-free. The pool was warm, clean, and the perfect size for everyone to enjoy. 10/10!! We spent last weekend at this cabin and were completely blown away! The views were spectacular, and the location couldn’t have been better—secluded and peaceful, yet close enough to town for convenience. The cabin was beautifully decorated for Christmas, fully stocked with everything we needed for cooking, and felt like a true home away from home. The pool was a fantastic touch and made our stay even more special. We absolutely loved every moment and can’t recommend this cabin highly enough. We’ll definitely be back!

Happy New Year’s! We celebrated New Year’s 2023 with 3 other families at The Appalachian Cabin. The House was plenty enough room for our group of 16. We are local and manager was very accommodating to help make the trip happen. Thanks to the view of the island we were able to see fireworks at midnight. The kids loved the pool! We will book again!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying here for our family vacation / Christmas getaway. This property was exactly as described and provided many amenities to entertain, including the outstanding indoor saline pool! The views were spectacular and made you feel as though you were completely isolated, all the while only a short 15 minute drive to Pigeon Forge. Our family of 10 loved the cabin. The rain kept us indoors most of the time, but there was plenty of room to spread out. We played board games, swam and visited. Our family enjoyed our weekend family reunion at the Appalachian. The accommodations were on point. The pool and spa were clean and in tip top shape. We loved the view of the mountains, the beautiful mountain stone fireplace, and found the beds to be cozy. We had a weak battery going off in one of the smoke detectors and Shaun fixed the issue so quickly and was polite and professional. We will definitely recommend this cabin to our friends and would absolutely stay here again.

The cabin is just as advertised. All of the bedrooms are spacious, and each has their own bathroom. The pool area is a great way to wrap up the night after a day out and about. Groceries and entertainment are only minutes away. The whole family enjoyed our getaway at this property.

We really enjoyed our time at the Appalachian! The house was plenty big for our large extended family and every family was able to have their own bathroom and space. The views were worth the short drive up the mountain. There were chairs to sit outside and just enjoy the views. We even saw a bear just outside the cabin which much to the kids delight. And the pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained and definitely a hit for kids and adults. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to make daily meals. The property manager was easy to get ahold of and responsive to our needs. Overall a wonderful family vacation and many memories were made!

We had a great time staying in the mountains. The pool was a hit, obviously, as well as the hot tub. I love that there was an automatic lock on the door down to the pool for added safety with the little ones. The bedrooms and baths were all big and cozy although there were only a couple of hangers and not many drawers or shelves for your belongings, which didn't take away from the trip at all but worth a mention. The sensor for the tv in the living room was so high I had to stand on the couch for it to work (or use it from the 2nd floor). Which, again, didn't take away from our experience but could be an easy fix. The views alone were enough with a beautiful sunrise every morning, the arcade games, pool table, and swimming all provided fun for the whole family. We had a fabulous time.

Cabin views were awesome! It was very accommodating, comfortable and spacious. The swimming pool was much larger than appeared in the pics and that was a nice plus. The outdoor space was super nice as well. The only improvement might be the quality of the towels but that is my personal preference My family would definitely stay there again!

We really enjoyed our stay. When we arrived the cabin was nice and clean. The bedroom and bathrooms were nice and big. Very convenient to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Loved the view every day. Everyone in our group really loved this place. Not too far from places to get the essentials and to the main artery of pigeon forge. House was spotless. Great views from the decks with lots of seating. Nice features like covered cooking / eating area and some covered sections of the deck for rainy days. Pool was awesome and easy to operate. Like that the door to it locked automatically after a few seconds. Only complaints are super nit picky and in no way affected our enjoyment. Kitchen could be a bit better stocked with wine glasses and a few other items, and a guidebook with TV and other house instructions would be nice. Will be booking this house again for sure when we return to the smokys.

Our family had a great week at The Appalachian! Views were amazing and the location was close enough to all the attractions we wanted to take in but still felt secluded. The Appalachian had a great indoor pool that we all thoroughly enjoyed! There were a few surprises, we expected the home to have typical amenities (ice maker, dish towels, hot pads), but the folks at Smoky Mountain Cabins helped us out and made sure our family had a great week. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a mountain get away for a larger group.

Our stay at the Appalachian was lovely. The pool was a huge hit and the accommodations were excellent. The rental company does not guarantee a check in time, which was a little dicey since we were all traveling from out of state, but we were checked in shortly after our arrival, so it all worked out. If there are specific kitchen items you need in order to make meals, I would recommend you bring them -- we had to get creative in some circumstances. We were still able to prepare all planned meals with what was stocked in house. If we came back to Pigeon Forge, we would definitely give the Appalachian another look. We had a great time.

This cabin was amazing! Stunning Mountain View’s, the pool was amazing and definitely the hit of the week. It’s nicely heated and salt water, which eliminates the overpowering chlorine smell. The lights and bubblers on the pool added such a fun feature as well. We loved that there were chairs and a table to relax by the pool as well. The hot tub is huge, you can definitely fit several people, it was clean and heated up nicely. One thing I’d like to mention to the staff is the area around the pool could be swept and cleaned. Lots of ants and crumbs and clearly had not been cleaned between guests (or many guests). The bedrooms were fantastic, everyone had their own space and large bathrooms. Kids loved the pool table and arcade games. We enjoyed dinner on the deck patio overlooking the view, and the grill worked well for steaks, chicken, and burgers. Absolutely amazing stay! We’ll be back!

While the cabin and location was absolutely beautiful, they were lacking some items. They had everything to cook with except for pot holders. I had to use the kitchen towels provided to remove hot dishes from the oven. I was able to get over that, but then I also needed the same towels for to do the dishes. A disposable dish sponge would have been nice, as well as some extra trash bags, as only one was provided. Overall, a beautiful place and lots of fun was had.

This was the first time we booked a cabin for our family. My husband and I booked this particular cabin to meet our needs of our children, grandchildren and parents. Our group of two families, kids 1-14 and our Frenchie loved the home. The layout was perfect, lots of places to sleep, lots of rest rooms, excellent pool, fabulous hot tub, nice pool table, lots of TV’s. I especially loved the safety features of the pool area, key coded door for entry, safety cover, it made life with a toddler more comfortable for us. The home was close to anything that we needed or anywhere that we wanted to go, but yet not downtown which was a huge perk. The views were gorgeous, we experienced warm, sunny views and a snowy day, all breathtaking. House could be cleaner, there were a few bandaids stuck to the living room wall, floors were swept but most likely not mopped as there were spots and a few spills when we arrived, but the bathrooms and linens were very fresh and clean. It was a fun place to celebrate my birthday and to watch the super bowl!

The cabin and indoor pool were amazing for our family. Views are glorious! Kids absolutely loved being able to do outdoor adventures during the day and then hit the pool in the evening. The cabin was very clean and comfortable for a group of 15. I do agree with another guest, for the price we paid there were some very basic items missing that seemed to constantly be an annoyance for our group as we made meals. Oven mitts, baking sheets, large pots, cutting boards, metal grill spatula for grill, empty grill propane tank, etc. And the listing should state you need to bring your own shampoo, soap and hand soap. Overall, amazing cabin and views were well worth the minor inconveniences which can be easily addressed. Thank you for having us at your beautiful cabin!
